50 Questions to Ask the Akashic Records (Love, Money, Career, Family, Purpose)

The best questions to ask the Akashic Records start with “why” or “how”. For example: “What is the lesson in this relationship?” or “What is blocking money for me?” Avoid “when will…” questions and yes/no questions, because the Records show you understanding and choices, not dates or fixed answers.

Here is what makes a good question, and 50 you can use.

What questions should I ask in an Akashic reading?

Ask open questions about you: your lessons, your feelings, your choices and your soul’s path. A good question opens a door. A weak question asks the Records to decide for you.

In my 15+ years of this work, I have seen that the question is half the reading. A clear, honest question brings a clear answer.

Here is what makes a question work:

• It starts with why, how or what. “Why do I feel tired around my mother?” works better than “Is my mother bad for me?”
• It is about you. You can ask about another person, but always through your side of the bond.
• It is about one thing. One situation per question. Don’t mix your job, your husband and your sister in one sentence.
• It is honest. Ask what you really want to know, not what sounds spiritual.
• It leaves room for free will. The Records show the energy you carry now and the possibilities ahead. You still choose.

Akashic Records questions about love and relationships

Love questions are the most common. The best ones ask about the lesson and the soul contract, not “will he come back”.

4. What is this relationship here to teach me?
5. Why do I feel unsafe when someone loves me deeply?
6. What fear is stopping me from opening my heart?
7. Is there a past-life link between me and this person, and what does it ask of me now?
8. How can I bring more peace into my marriage?
9. What do I need to understand to let go of my ex?

In Indian thought there is a lovely word for some bonds: ṛṇānubandhana (ऋणानुबन्धन), a bond created by a debt between souls. Asking “what is the debt here, and how do I complete it?” can change how you see a painful relationship. You can read more about this in what is a soul contract.

Akashic Records questions about family and ancestors

Family questions help you see what you carry from your parents and the generations before them.

10. What have I taken on from my mother that is not mine to carry?
11. What is my soul’s lesson with my father?
12. Which family belief is holding me back?
13. What do my ancestors want me to know right now?
14. Why do I feel like the black sheep of my family?
15. How can I be a better parent to my child?
16. What can I heal so it does not pass to the next generation?

In our tradition we honour the pitṛ (पितृ), the ancestors. Asking about family is not blaming anyone. It is a way of putting a heavy, old bag down.

Akashic Records questions about money

Money questions work best when you ask about beliefs and blocks, not lottery numbers.

18. Why does money leave me as soon as it comes?
19. What did I learn about money as a child that I need to change?
20. Do I feel I deserve to be paid well? Why or why not?
21. What is my soul’s relationship with wealth in this life?
22. What is one step I can take to feel safer with money?

Akashic Records questions about health and the body

Here I want to be careful. You can ask about the emotional and energetic side of your body, but not for a diagnosis. An Akashic reading never replaces a doctor or a therapist. If you have symptoms, please see a doctor first. Then you can use these questions for the inner side.

33. Why do I feel so tired even after rest?

Akashic Records questions about soul purpose and spiritual growth

These are the big questions. Ask them slowly, and don’t expect one reading to answer everything.

39. What lesson have I come back to learn?
40. Which past life is affecting me most right now?
41. What is my biggest strength at the soul level?
42. What spiritual practice is right for me at this time?
43. What is the next step in my spiritual growth?

Many of the patterns we feel are saṃskāra (संस्कार), impressions left by experience, sometimes from this life and sometimes from before. A good soul question helps you see them, which is where change begins.

Questions to ask the Akashic Records about a specific person

You can ask about another person, but only about the relationship between you, not to spy on their private life.

46. What is the soul agreement between me and this person?
47. Why does this person trigger me so much?
48. What can I learn from this person?
49. How can I set a healthy boundary with this person?
50. What do I need to forgive, in them or in myself, to feel free?

Questions that don’t work well in an Akashic reading

Some questions give weak or confusing answers. Here is why.

Quick answers

How many questions can I ask in one Akashic reading?

It depends on the session length. In my 1:1 readings, a 30-45 minute session is generally 1-2 questions, a 70-90 minute session 3-5 questions, and a 90-120 minute session 6 or more.

Can I ask the Akashic Records about my future?

You can ask about possibilities and the energy you are carrying now. The Records don’t give fixed predictions, because you always have free will.

Can I ask about someone else without their permission?

You can ask about your bond with them and your side of it. You should not ask about their private life.

Should I write my questions down first?

Yes. It shows you what you really want to know. Put the most important one first.

Can I ask these questions in my own Akashic Records?

A good question doesn’t have to be clever. It has to be true. Most people find that once they ask the real question, the one they were scared to say out loud, half the answer is already sitting inside them. The reading only helps them hear it.
