What Happens in an Akashic Reading? What to Expect, Step by Step

In an Akashic reading, you share your questions, the reader opens your Akashic Records with a prayer, and then shares what comes through for each question. You can ask follow-up questions as you go. At the end, the reader closes the Records with a closing prayer, and you leave with clear guidance on what to understand and what to release.

If you are nervous before your first reading, that is normal. Here is exactly what to expect.

What happens in an Akashic Records reading?

It is a calm, guided conversation. Nothing scary, nothing dramatic. Here is how it usually goes, step by step:

• 1. You share your questions. You tell the reader what you want to understand. It could be one situation or a few areas of life.
• 2. The reader opens your Records. With your permission, the reader says a sacred opening prayer to connect with your Records.
• 3. Guidance comes through. The reader shares what they receive, in simple words. This may include patterns, past-life links, family patterns or a soul lesson.
• 4. You ask follow-ups. This is a two-way talk. If something is not clear, you ask. If something touches you deeply, you can pause.
• 5. Practical next steps. A good reading doesn’t only explain. It also tells you what you can do, think about or let go of.
• 6. The Records are closed. The reader says a closing prayer, and the session ends.

How do I prepare for an Akashic reading?

Write down 3-5 clear questions, drink water, sit somewhere quiet, and come with an open mind. That’s all you need.

A few small tips:

• Ask “why”, “how” and “what” questions. “Why do I feel guilty every time I rest?” works better than “Will I be happy?”
• Avoid “when will” and yes/no questions. The Records show possibilities, not dates.
• Keep a notebook nearby. You will want to remember small lines later.
• Don’t over-prepare. You don’t need special clothes, fasting or rituals.

Can an Akashic reading be done online?

Yes. Distance doesn’t matter. The reader connects to your Records, not to your location. An online reading over Zoom works just as well as sitting in the same room.

How do I get an Akashic reading?

Book a session with a trained reader. Before you book, check three things:

• Training: Where did they learn, and how do they open the Records?
• Reviews: What do other people say about how they felt after?
• Feel: Does their way of explaining feel kind and clear to you?

Run away from anyone who frightens you, keeps asking for more money to “remove” a problem, or promises a fixed result.

How much does an Akashic reading cost in India?

Prices vary a lot by reader and by session length. To be fully open, here are my own 1:1 Akashic reading fees:

What do people feel during an Akashic reading?

Many people feel warmth, calm, tears or relief. Some feel nothing big during the session, but notice clearer choices in the days after.

Both are normal. Tears don’t mean something is wrong. They often mean something old is finally being seen. In Indian thought, we carry saṃskāra (संस्कार), impressions left by experience. When an old impression is touched gently, the body sometimes answers before the mind does.

Imagine a man who comes in asking about his business. The reading keeps returning to his father’s fear of losing money. He may feel a lump in his throat, then a strange lightness. That is what a reading can feel like.

What are the benefits of an Akashic reading?

The main benefit is clarity. Here is what people usually take away:

• Clarity on the root of an old struggle, not just the surface.
• Peace about the past, including family and past-life links.
• A clearer view of their karma (कर्म) with certain people, sometimes a ṛṇānubandhana (ऋणानुबन्धन), a bond created by a debt between souls.

One honest note: a reading is not a cure. It does not replace a doctor or therapist. It can sit beside that care, gently.
