Akashic Records FAQ: 100+ Questions Answered Simply

This page answers more than 100 real questions people ask Google about the Akashic Records, soul contracts, karmic relationships, past lives, healing and oracle cards – each in two or three simple lines. Every section links to a full guide if you want to go deeper.

The questions come from what people actually type into Google, in English and Hindi. The answers are from Neha Singla, Akashic Records teacher in Bengaluru.

Akashic Records basics

What are the Akashic Records?

The Akashic Records are the energy record of your soul's journey – every thought, choice and lesson, in this life and past lives. Reading them helps you understand why your life is the way it is.

What do the Akashic Records tell you?

They tell you why things happen to you: your soul's purpose, your soul contracts with people, your repeating patterns and past-life links. They don't give dates or fixed predictions.

What does 'Akasha' mean?

Akasha is a Sanskrit word for space or ether – the fifth element that holds the other four. The idea is that every action leaves an impression in this space.

Who discovered or created the Akashic Records?

Nobody 'discovered' them. The idea comes from ancient Indian thought (akasha, karma). The English name came through the Theosophists in the late 1800s and was made famous by Edgar Cayce.

Where are the Akashic Records located?

They are not in a physical place. Think of them as an energy field you connect to through prayer and a calm, focused mind – not a building you visit.

What do the Akashic Records look like?

People experience them differently – some see a library or books, some see light or images, many simply hear or feel answers. There is no one 'correct' picture.

Which religion do the Akashic Records belong to?

They don't belong to any one religion. The idea has roots in Indian philosophy, and people of every faith use them as a spiritual tool, not a religion.

What is an Akashic Records reader?

A reader is someone trained to open the Akashic Records with a sacred prayer and bring back clear guidance for you, with your permission.

What is Akashic healing?

Akashic healing means using what you learn in the Records to release old patterns – past-life pain, family patterns, old vows – so they stop repeating in your life.

What is an Akashic soul reading?

It's a reading of your own soul's record – your purpose, patterns and soul contracts – done by you or a trained reader.

Akashic Records words to know (vocabulary)

Key words: opening prayer, Masters/Teachers/Loved Ones, soul contract, karmic pattern, closing prayer. Learning these makes the Records less confusing.

Akashic Records examples – what does a real reading say?

A real example: 'Why do I keep losing money?' may show an old vow of poverty from a past life, and what to release now. Examples help people trust the process.

Is it real? Is it safe?

Are the Akashic Records real?

Science has not proven them. But thousands of people find readings accurate and life-changing. The best test is your own experience – does the guidance make sense of your life?

Is there any science behind the Akashic Records?

No direct proof. But ideas like Ervin Laszlo's 'Akashic field' and epigenetics (trauma passing through generations) point in the same direction.

Are Akashic readings accurate?

A good reading feels true and specific, not vague. Accuracy depends on the reader's training, how clear your questions are and how open you are.

Is it safe to access the Akashic Records?

Yes, when you open and close them with the proper prayer. The Records are a space of love. What can feel heavy is old emotion coming up to heal – not danger.

Can the Akashic Records predict the future?

No. They show possibilities and the energy you are carrying now. You always keep free will to choose a different path.

Can you change your Akashic Records?

You can't erase the past, but you can change what you carry forward. When you heal a pattern, your future possibilities change.

Do Akashic Records work?

They work as a tool for understanding and release. People usually notice change in how they react, choose and relate – not magic overnight.

Are the Akashic Records against the Bible / biblical?

Some Christians see a link with the 'Book of Life'. Others prefer not to use them. It's a personal choice; the Records don't ask you to leave your faith.

Akashic Records vs Tarot

Tarot uses cards as symbols to reflect a situation. The Akashic Records go to the soul's record directly and explain why patterns repeat.

Akashic Records vs Astrology

Astrology reads planet positions at birth – a map and timing. The Akashic Records read the soul's history and lessons – the 'why'.

Akashic Records vs past life regression

Past life regression takes you into a memory through hypnosis. The Akashic Records give past-life information through prayer and guidance, while you stay fully awake.

Akashic Records vs psychic reading

A psychic reads energy or the future. An Akashic reader opens your soul's record with a prayer and focuses on lessons and healing.

Soul contracts

What is a soul contract?

A soul contract is an agreement your soul made before birth with another soul – to learn something together. Often the hardest people are the biggest teachers.

How do I know my soul contract?

Through an Akashic reading, or by noticing the lessons that repeat with one person. You can also try the free Soul Contract app at soulcontract.nehasingla.in.

How do I know if I have a soul contract with someone?

Signs: instant strong recognition, a lesson that keeps repeating with them, feelings bigger than the situation, and a pull you can't explain.

Can a soul contract be broken or ended?

Soul contract with parents

Many of our deepest soul contracts are with parents – they set up the lessons we spend our life learning, like self-worth or boundaries.

Soul contract with partner / in marriage

A partner soul contract is about growing together – sometimes for life, sometimes only until a lesson is complete.

Soul contract vs soulmate vs twin flame

Soul contract = the agreement. Soulmate = a soul that supports you. Karmic partner = a soul you have unfinished lessons with. Twin flame = a popular idea of a mirror soul.

Can soul contracts be changed?

Yes – free will is part of every contract. How you respond can shorten, soften or complete it.

Is a soul contract real?

It's a spiritual idea, not a proven fact. Many people find it gives meaning to painful relationships and helps them heal.

Soul contract number / chart – how to calculate

Some systems use your birth name or birth date to make a 'soul contract chart'. Neha's free Soul Contract app gives a reading in minutes.

Karmic relationships

What is a karmic relationship?

A karmic relationship is with someone you have unfinished business with from a past life. It is intense, often painful, and meant to teach you something.

Signs of a karmic relationship

Signs: instant intense attraction, the same fights again and again, on-off breakups, feeling drained but unable to leave.

Why are karmic relationships so painful?

Because they bring up old wounds so you can finally see them and heal them. The pain is the lesson knocking.

How do I end or heal a karmic relationship?

Learn the lesson it brought, stop repeating the pattern, set boundaries, and release it with forgiveness. Akashic healing can help clear the past-life link.

Can a karmic relationship last or lead to marriage?

Sometimes, if both people do the inner work. Many karmic relationships end once the lesson is learned – and that's not failure, it's completion.

Karmic relationship vs soulmate vs twin flame

A karmic partner teaches you through difficulty. A soulmate supports you and grows with you. A twin flame (a popular idea) mirrors you very intensely. The full guide has a simple table to help you see which one you have.

Signs a karmic relationship is ending

You stop reacting the old way, the obsession fades, you feel calmer apart, and you can see the lesson clearly.

How long do karmic relationships last?

There's no fixed time. They last until the lesson is learned – weeks for some, years for others.

Are karmic relationships always bad?

No. They are hard, but they are gifts in disguise. Many people grow most through a karmic relationship.

Karmic relationship with husband / spouse

Many marriages carry karmic lessons. Healing the pattern often changes the marriage – sometimes it heals, sometimes it completes.

Why do I keep attracting the same type of partner?

Because an old pattern – often from childhood or a past life – keeps choosing what feels familiar. Healing the pattern changes who you attract.

Past lives

How do I know about my past life?

Notice strong unexplained fears, talents, places you love, and people you 'recognise'. An Akashic reading can show past lives clearly.

Do past lives really exist?

Many traditions, including Hindu and Buddhist teachings, say yes. Science hasn't proven it. Many people find past-life work explains things nothing else can.

Signs of a past life connection with someone

What is a past life reading?

A reading that looks at past lives connected to a problem you have today – and what to release.

Signs of past life trauma

Fears with no cause in this life, strong reactions to certain places or eras, repeating nightmares, or body pain doctors can't explain.

Past life karma – how does it affect me?

Past-life karma shows up as patterns that repeat no matter what you do. Seeing them clearly is the first step to ending them.

Past life partner – signs and astrology

A past-life partner often feels like home and like a storm at once. The Akashic Records can show what you came back to finish.

What is past life healing?

Past life healing releases pain, vows or fears carried from another life so they stop affecting this one.

Healing, cord cutting, ancestral

What is cord cutting and does it work?

Cord cutting means releasing the energy ties that keep you stuck to a person or past situation. It works best when you also learn the lesson behind the cord.

How to do a cord cutting ritual

Sit quietly, picture the cord between you and the person, thank them for the lesson, and imagine the cord gently dissolving in light. Repeat if needed.

What is ancestral healing?

Ancestral healing means releasing pain and patterns passed down your family line – fear, poverty, marriage problems – so they stop with you.

Can trauma pass through generations?

Research on families of trauma survivors (e.g. Rachel Yehuda) suggests stress can affect the next generation. The Akashic view calls this lineage karma.

What is soul healing?

Soul healing works on the root – beliefs, vows and wounds held at soul level – not just the symptoms.

Oracle cards and decks

What are oracle cards?

Oracle cards are cards with images and messages used for guidance and self-reflection. Unlike tarot, each deck has its own structure.

Oracle cards vs tarot cards – what's the difference?

Tarot has a fixed 78-card system. Oracle decks have any number of cards and their own themes. Oracle is usually easier for beginners.

How do I use oracle cards?

Hold the deck, breathe, ask one clear question, shuffle, pick a card, and read the guidebook message. Notice what you feel first.

What questions should I ask oracle cards?

Ask open questions: What do I need to know today? What is this situation teaching me? What is blocking me?

Which oracle deck is best for beginners?

Pick a deck whose images speak to you and that has a clear guidebook. Neha's Akashic Healing Oracle Deck is made for beginners and healing.

Are oracle cards accurate? Can they predict the future?

Oracle cards are best for guidance, not prediction. They reflect what's going on inside you right now.

Are there Indian oracle decks?

Yes. Neha Singla's decks – like the Divine Feminine Mahakali Akashic Oracle and the Akashic Healing Oracle Deck – are made in India with Indian spiritual roots.

Mahakali oracle deck

The Divine Feminine Mahakali Akashic Oracle is an 88-card deck by Neha Singla, built around Maa Kali's energy of truth, boundaries and release.

Is using oracle or tarot cards a sin / witchcraft?

Oracle cards are a reflection tool, not black magic. How you see it depends on your faith – there's no harm in using them for self-reflection.

Can I mix oracle decks?

Yes. Many readers pull from two decks together – one for the message, one for the healing or action.

Life, feelings, purpose

How do I find my soul purpose?

Notice what you'd do even unpaid, what pain you've turned into wisdom, and what keeps calling you. An Akashic reading can show it clearly.

Why do I feel stuck in life?

Often because an old pattern or fear is still running. The Akashic view: you may be repeating something unfinished. Seeing it is the first way out.

Why do I feel lonely even with people?

Because being seen is different from being around people. Loneliness often points to a part of you that hasn't been met yet.

Why do I keep dreaming about my ex?

Dreams often process unfinished emotion or a soul lesson that isn't complete yet.

Maa Kali and nazar

Who is Maa Kali and what does she mean?

Maa Kali is the fierce Divine Mother who destroys illusion, ego and fear. She stands for protection and truth, not something to be scared of.

What is nazar and how to remove it?

Nazar is the heavy energy of jealousy or too much attention. Simple traditional remedies include salt, lemon-chilli and prayer. Cleansing your own energy every day helps most.
